Repair of Bowel Pouch

I just received my insurance papers and it states that I had a "bowel pouch repair" during my abdominal hysterectomy. My gynecologist did not inform me that there was any damage done to my bowel during surgery. ? After my hysterectomy I immediately began having diarhea, nausea, and running a fever. The doctor told me it was a virus. After going being home for two days my fever went up to 102 and I was readmitted and given antibiotics for 2 days and released. No one ever said anything about the bowel repair or possibility of infection from it. My concern is, what are the long-term effects of a bowel repair? Also, shouldn't the doctor have informed me that this happened? I was very worried I had some kind of awful post-operative infection. I am going to request a copy of my surgical report...but this is all strange to me....but it does explain why my surgery was so long (over 3 hours), and why the infection happened.
My questions are: a) is there anything I need to watch for medically to make sure I recover properly from this (it has not yet been 4 weeks since my hysterectomy)...
b) can I sue my doctor for emotional distress?

I have the same problem,  when I got my bill from the insurance it said "bowel pouch repair" also that I had a bladder wound repaired, a repair of a perforated large intestine,  removal of abdominal tumor & pelvic lymph nodes removed. I was supposed to be going in to have me genitofemoral nerve & ilioinguinal nerve removed. I had a hysterectomy when I was 28 due to severe endometriosis & then my right ovary had to be removed because it was so badly impacted into the pelvic wall & even though the left did not look so good they were trying to keep one ovary in so that I was still producing estrogen & would not go into full menopause, but a year later they had no choice but to remove it along with the genitofemoral nerve & ilioinguinal nerve. This time when they went in just to remove those nerves & scar tissue,  it turns out I had all these other things my mom  & boyfriend were not told when he came out of surgery, not even the golf ball sized tumor, I found out about that at my one month post-op appointment,  but he never mentioned anything else and since the surgery in have been in more severe pain than I had prior to the surgery & when I went back to him, after going to the e.r. 3 times & them giving me pain medication shots & seNing me home telling me there was nothing they could do for me. So when I went back to the surgeon he gave me stronger pain meds & told me he wanted me to go to a pain management doctor & have them do nerve blocks which are very painful & most of the time don't work. This was my 14th pelvic operation & I'm so physically, mentally & emotionally exhausted & so depressed cause I cry every day because of the pain & nobody is giving me answers. I've been doing so much research on the Internet trying to figure out things on my own. I'm gonna get my operative report cause I want to know exactly what was done & I'm having my medical records sent to this vascular institute because I read that you can get varicose veins on your bladder & bowels & when laying flat they would not be noticeable. So I'm gonna have these doctors look at my most recent medical records & tell them all about my medical history & pray I can get some answers. I'm already on disability due to a car accident 5 yrs ago that  caused me to have neck & back surgery so I already deal with enough pain from that, so I don't need added pain & became I developed insomnia I started having seizures.  It all too much & I can't take anymore
