post surgery question

Hi! I am 40 years old and just had a major hysterectomy due to tons of problems.  I had the surgery on Dec 29, 2010.  Can anyone tell me if it is normal for your stomach to feel like you have a sunburn when your clothes rub on it.  I don't mean where they cut me open I mean up higher like my mid stomach.  When does one usually go back to work?  I have to be able to do my job to the fullest or they do not let you come back until the doctor clears you.  No limitaions.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Thank you.  No shirts are not to tight.  It just seems odd to me.  I will for sure ask the doctor about that.  Thanks again.
