reg drugs taken before hysterectomy happened

I wish to ask a question reg drugs taken before Laproscopic vagial hysterectomy happened .

I was prescribed trapic MF which I religious took for more then 6 years every period ., becuse I feared hysterectomy and did not want it .

The pin went on increasing and blood clots increased as well.,and the duration of periods occuring  were shortened gradually like every 30/28/25/ 20 days every 18 days etc

Finally i  could no more withstand the pain and the gynae immediately ordered hysterectomy.,which was done in a couple of days
In the latest ultrasound they ahd seen a fibroid too., where a the primary dx was adenomyosis .

The hysterectomy went on well and recovery was smooth.

Biopsy report said it was   leimyoma and one tube had chronic salphigitis .,The dr said leimyomas are common and in addition to that there could have been adenomyosis which caused immense pain.and bleeding .so it was good that we removed.

i was doing quite well after LAVH .

recently I found  that I might be having  lowered immunity (globulins have dropped by nearly 6 points compared to 2 years back ...in the blood test which i had recently  )..

I wish to ask if The long course of Trapic Mfs and crocins that i had could have caused any damage to liver or kidney etc., The liver function and kidney funtion were normal in the recent test

I used to take the drugs not throughout the month but only during periods .,but some times I used to take more than the stipulated by dr.But i did drink a lot of water .

I had high cholesterol /high ldl and high triglycerides ..in recent test .

Is this high cholesterol a development of side effect of hysterectomy .?..

is low globulin related to the drugs i took ?

BTW I also have a congenital neurological condition called arnold chiari malformation which means in laymans language  a small part of cerebellum(in mms)  is found anal., there by causing some problems ..and i have had it since more than 15 years of dx.is it due to that ?

any thoughts on this are welcome .

hi dr.,

If u can just throw on light as to how transfusion can cause dropping of globulin levels.,I would be thankful.

They are checking the blood for all sort   of infections and labelling it as free

of  so and so etc.,etc., etc.,and storing it in a certain temperature .,

I think so all the  hospitals use only this sorted  blood for transfusing... In my case also they brought blood  from nearby blood bank which was lwith check label .

.In that case I am wondering how this transfusion can  be one of the possible reasons for  the drop in globulin levels .

Thank you .

Thank you for the reply.

Hello,
Since you were taking Crocin and Trapic MF’s only during your periods and not for a prolonged period of time, it is less likely for these drugs to cause lowered immunity. Moreover your liver function and kidney function tests have come out normal which rules out any damage to these organs.

Lowered immunity can be due to many causes important ones being emotional stress, physical stressors such as inadequate sleep or athletic overtraining, environmental and occupational chemical exposure, UV and other types of radiation, common viral or bacterial infections, certain drug therapies, blood transfusions and surgery.  In your case it is more likely to be due to hysterectomy surgery.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

*** in laymans words a small part of cerebellum protudes the top spinal vertebrae(c1.,c2)thereby hampering spinal flow

..in my case the drs are not willing to treat surgically since they feel there is no evidence to suggest the intervention..

could the low globulin related to dehydration before and after hysterectomy..Thank you
