its common to gain weight after a hysterectomy, also its very common to develop thyroid problems , has happened to me and many of my posters please go to your dr and ask for a FULL thyroid panel blood test, you will need to be on a 12 hr fast nothing except water.

hypothyroidisms main symptoms are depression, lack of sex drive, weight gain, dry skin, constipation, hair loss.

Same thing happened to me after my hyster.  It took me about 4 years to get it back under control.

How long ago was your hyster?  Taking any hormone replacements?  Are you hormone levels being monitored closely?
