why i still get a period after a partial hysterectomy

i am a 37 yerar old woman who had a partial hysterectomy 3 years ago. My uterus and 1 ovary was removed. i get a period every month exactly 28 days apart, every three months its darker than the other months. i have really bad pms as well. i dont need a pad as its not heavy but i dont need a liner all day for two to three days.

Oh my goodness, I have the same problem... although I still have my cervix, my OB said that's normal and it's because she must have missed a piece of the uterus... I don't believe her, but there is nothing I can do about it...

This 100% should not be happening...my guess your surgical cuff is not completly closed, get to your Dr if he wont help see another one this is not normal. If I am correct about surgical cuff ( the way they close vagina top where cervix is removed your at risk for infection as well.
