Cherie gave you great advice about the DaVinci procedure. I've heard many good things about it and when I had my hysterectomy many years ago I wish it would have been available.
You'll need 6 weeks recovery time. I'm sure you will feel much better weeks before that but you still have to take things easy for 6 weeks.
Cherie is our wonderful CL here at the hysterectomy forum so if you have any questions she's the woman to ask. We're here to support you through all of this and if it comes down to you having the surgery we have lots of advice and tips to make things easier.

Hi Remar is asking all the right questions, now that we know why your thinking of a hyster I have just a bit of advice..please read up on  just do a on-line search) a procedure called the DaVinci Robotic hysterectomy its the very best method out there..less bleeding, scaring, easier for both Dr and patient. I had this method and I have just four very small as in 1/4 inch scars on abdomen..yes it is a serious surgery. However in many cases and it sounds like in your case once done and past the 6 week healing it is soooooo very nice to be pain free. If you do decide to get the surgery get back w either me or Remar we can offer lots of tips to help before and after,

hugs

You should keep your appointment. Can you say why you and your Dr are talking about a hysterectomy?
At 44 your not too young to be going through menopause, so that might be what's going on.
We would need to know what your medical problems are to better help you.  Remar
