I would love to buy if we could afford it and we had our debt more under control. :( The thing is, we need to sell our house and not lose on it! Ugh. It's a buyers market alright, not a sellers market!
All I need is my green card......
You could buy 4 houses in Arizona for 1 in the area where I live (in England)!! and that would only be with 1/2 to 1 acre of land!
thats true ginger, I have been on the MLS listings and I was so suprprised how cheap they are in other states , tell you what Ireland has got cheaper again now, they are almost bankrupted by their government , have you read about it ...I had a business there, they wre so cheap then , then Ireland took off but now its been ruined again and its one of the places to buy,I found in Arizona , ranches on a few acres going for 20.000- 50.000 dollars that is, hery dont worry about that green card join the rest of them here and get Amnesty you'd be here quicker anyway ..
Lot of folks in that position April but it works out as you buy cheaper so you lose but the house you'd buy would pick up the slack, I know what you mean though its a tough time now ...if folks are working it is worth that stretch thougfh ...
April, if you sold your house, even at a lower price than what you paid for it, you would have your mortgage (or at least most of it) paid off, move and buy a much cheaper but nicer house and a very small mortgage, may even leave money in your pocket.
What state do you live in April? google to see what prices are like ...its easier to sell at the lower price ,there are real bargains out there ...
The thing is we've only lived in this house for 4 years so we don't have much equity in it. My husband said he did check into what houses were going for in our neighborhood and it looked like we could lose up to 10,000 dollars on the house. We simply can't afford that. If we can at least break even then we will consider it. Believe me, I'd love to move and will as soon as we can!
I know not easy is it, we found a great place the other day although this one is not on the market yet ...it had 3 acres of land , 3x2 house ,in a great country area, it was on the listings my DH said , when we got back and wre going to make an offer they said its a short sale and that someone had made an offer and there were other back up offers ..I hate when that happens My gave my DH a chunnering, before we do any drive by's we need to call make sure they are still up there , seem to be some bidding wars going on,
If you so sell guys try selling by Owner you save at least two thirds you will pay to a realtor, its not too hard ,,you can do it ......I am doing it now ..its my third time I saved thousands ..
