Nice! I like what you did with the place :)
I changed my profile around to show how you can have all your communities as close to the top on the right side.
Take a look either by clicking on ChitChatNine to get to my profile or here is the link:

I'll leave it that way for you to see .. I dropped my photos further down the page.
Does this layout help you at all since you dont' care for the way My Shortcuts has a dropdown menu? It's pretty close to the right upper side.
Sorry, I cannot do anything about the ad though :(

Depending on the price and whether the site loads faster without the ad, I'd strongly consider paying the monthly premium.
Using the My Shortcuts on the right hand side is a tremendous improvement in moving it there, as it's closer to the scroll bar when I decide to hit "my shortcuts" and then change my mind I'm right there at the right hand side scroll bar with much less movement of the mouse.
MJIthewriter -- I recently invested in an Ergonominc Mouse made by MIcrosoft and it is absolutely terrific. It comes with a money back guarantee even if opeend/used ( I bought it at Staples) and it has made a world of difference when I'm online for long periods of time.
The ad doesn't bother me too much except it can conflict with the color of my background LOL ......... I guess that is the excuse I need to change my color/theme right!
I love the Widgets .. I think peopl, in general, have a tendency to want things on the right upper side ... in a few weeks we'll all adjust :)

Except for those with epilepsy. That position and the type of the ad could mean life or death. Okay I don't have that concern, but I'm trying to speak for those who do.
From what I know about web sites and ads, it's very much like the the physical world and real estate. Location, location, location. Ads typically appear high up on the page because people notice them there, so advertisers are happy It's really a small price to pay for a free site IMO.
I'll get used to it.
I lost four hours of sleep last night and I'm sick and old and cranky, and when I saw the changes my world tilted a few degrees. I'll get over it.
Being able to move the ad would be very helpful.
I sometimes have sensory overload and animated ads really bother me. I try to scroll past them as fast as I can.
I watch very little TV and am very selective. Unexpected stimuli sometimes bothers me a lot, and animated ads fall into that catagory.
I realize this site needs to make money to stay in existance.
Not all people have my problem.
The different skins are nice.
Although I'll probably leave the default selection.
:o)
Maybe you can make the post wiget unable to be collapse but allow it to either be moved up or down from its current location.
I don't see why we can't be able to move the location of the ad like the other wigits. If I had the choice I'd put it at the bottom so I can have my shortcuts in the upper right. The ad will still be there, but at least become less distracting. We also can't move the "posts" wiget? I wonder why? I'd like to put the journals up above that corner.
The redesign of My MedHelp allows our members to customize the page with different color/design themes as well as by moving the different widgets around. The redesign also prepares My MedHelp to support more applications which we will be rolling out shortly.
You can customize the page by moving the different widgets around. The only ones you can't move are the "About Me" widget, the "Posts" widget, and the ad. The About Me and Posts sections are important to helping members learn about each other and so we wanted to make them easy to find. The ad is how we keep this site free. A few people have suggested that we offer a premium service without ads. If there are enough members who want such a service we can look into it.
I like the new layout. Since I do use the shortcuts I find it much faster having them on the top right. One negative is that you can't create a new journal from the summary page like you could before. That would be nice to have.
I agree with you about the advertising, but I guess its the price we'll have to pay to keep the site free (money-wise).
However, I'm playing around with the way My Medhelp is arranged, and moving some of the categories around where I want them. To a limited extent, you can move things around.
We'll all get used to it in time. There was horrible uproar when MH went to the last layout. Even from me. Especially from me! But I got used to it. We all will.
The huge advertising on the profile page is EXTREMELY annoying.
I don't like anything about the changes on the profile page.
Thanks for the advice.
But I still can't put anything in the upper right hand corner. That takes up a lot of space. :(
I'd liek the option to stretch out and make some of the windows bigger... as well as move that thing in the upper right to somewhere on the bottom of the page.
The new page has a customized layout -- you can move joined communities, and some of the other widgets around.
Another thing you can do is use my shortcuts on the right hand side of the page...mouse over the small triangle and you'll see your list of joined and watched communities.
I also don't like the order of the things there. I think the community list should stay on the upper right rather than the bottom. The part with the profile should be in the center, not the left side and the notes on the bottom.
I'm sorry to be so negative. Does anyone else agree with me that they prefer the old layout to this one? I think it would be great to just keep the color changing feature with the old profile layout, really.
