Oh, I recommend a trial of dairy avoidance. That can cause problems for many people.
Get tested for food allergies if you have not. Even if there are no positives, I'd suggest simplifying your diet. No fried foods. Only healthy fats like fix oils, flax, olive oil. No fast food. No white wheat bread, and see if avoiding wheat and rye helps. If that helps, you may have gluten sensitivity even if not Celiac disease. Eat lots of vegetables. Raw is good if your system can handle it, but cooked is okay if you can't. Eat lots of fish and poultry unless you seem to react. Some red meat is fine unless you have cardiovascular/cholesterol issues. Lots of whole fruits, not juices. Try to eat kale and other greens every week. Brussel sprouts too. These types of foods, though gassy, have wonderful antiinflammatory properties. Learn about herbs like sage and ginger and incorporate those. You can add ginger to green tea. Avoid empty calories like soda pop. No artificial sweeteners.
If you have not tried MiraLax, it is very helpful. Metamucil is good for you as it is high in fiber, but alone it was not helpful for me (I have a long and twisted colon). But I am experimenting with using both Miralax and Metamucil, and it is a good combination for me. I also have to take a strong Rx medication - Amitiza - but due to the expense, you will want to avoid that if possible. It costs hundreds of dollars every month, but without it my system shuts down. Besides the long and twisted colon that a scope could not get through, I have Celiac disease.
I've posted a comment about ways to get around IBS especially your kind
of problem. I think I posted last month i e September this year and I hope
you've come across the item. Good luck . From stalamo804
There are many people out there claiming that their supplement will "cure" you of everything. My personal belief is that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. You can't "cure" IBS but you can find something that will get your symptoms down to a minimum or sometimes time improves your symptoms dramatically. Have you tried eliminating different foods from your diet?
