Passing Mucus Only

Hi! I have not been diagnosed with IBS or any other gastrointestinal disease. I am 33 F. A few weeks ago I woke up in the middle of the night with an odd feeling in my rectum like gas was collecting down there, but I had the urge to use the restroom. When I went there was a lot of gas and about a 1/2 cup of mucus. No stool, just mucus. This happened for a few days of mucus only or mucus and stool combination and eventually tapered off.

Yesterday I had a painful bowel movement with bright red bleeding and I am in a bit of pain like I have hemorrhoids. I have a history of hemorrhoids and painful bowel movements from lack of fiber in my diet or taking iron supplements while pregnant. Now, the mucus is back again. I just passed about 1/2-1 cup of mucus (so a lot) twice in the past 8 hours. I have a lot of gas also.

Could hemorrhoids be causing this much mucus?
