Bowel movement every three to four weeks? This is correct? This is extreme constipation and could be dangerous. If all that stool dries within the bowel, it can get impacted - only a surgery can solve this then.
She should see a doctor. How old is she?
sorry for the late response. she is 22. she says she has little pain, and so far it does not bother her that much. i say she has a problem, but doctors can find no explaination so far. i think she needs fiber pills. i have told her to go to the clinic... she is a single mom, 4 month old. any suggestions??
Okay, listen, up until 2 months ago, I had tried EVERYTHING for constipation relief and saw 3 different gastroentologists and nothing helped. For the past 8 years I was totally dependent on harsh laxatives (daily) and liquid glycerin enemas (also daily). I also took fiber supplements 3 times daily. Then 2 months ago I saw an ad on TV for the Kellogg's All-Bran 10 Day Challenge for regularity. It took a few days to start working, but all I can tell you is that it works like a miracle for me. I eat it every single day (day or night), usually with a banana, and I just about panic if I can't find it at the store (so I buy 2 boxes at a time). I also take 2 Fibercon supplements once daily and 1 Acidophilus capsule nightly (promotes intestinal health). I probably could just do with the cereal, but I'm scared to change anything since it's working so well. I buy the Kellogg's All-Bran Original by the way. If she's willing to stick to the plan for at least 10 days and not give up, I think she'll get good results. Good luck and please let me know if this helps.
thank you so much for your response. i will have her try this and see if it helps her. i will let you know when i find out from her if it works. thanks again.
