Hello and hope you are doing well.
The common causes for the back pain she is experiencing are infections/inflammations of the bowel, kidney disorders like pyeloneohritis, glomerulonephritis or renal colic. Others are pelvic inflammatory disease, ectopic pregnancy, endometritis and polycystic ovarian syndrome. I would advise you to re consult your primary care physician for evaluation of pain. He will ask for blood tests, urine analysis, an x ray and an ultra sonogram of the abdomen. Sometimes he may ask for an Intravenous pyelogram and a CT scan. In the meantime ask her to take OTC Naproxen for pain relief and plenty of oral fluids.
Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

Hey all,
She still doesn't have a good answer. Her doctor ran a urine culture and drew some blood. He gave her some antibiotics and said she had a uti complication from a kidney stone! Sounded fishy to me, but she seems to be doing better a week after the meds. Thanks
Has she had anymore pain or found out anything further? If she's still having the pain, she should have her doctor send her for an xray or a CT scan of her kidneys. My doctor was mistaken in telling me that I have had UTI's and bladder infections over the past year, when in fact I had a 15 mm kidney stone stuck in my ureter and now they think I may have permanent kidney damage because of how long it's been stuck there. If she has prolonged pain and blood in her urine, she should request a test of her kidneys
