The lab work on your sputum tests should have been completed within days.  Take your lab work and go to a doctor that can read/discuss them with you immediately!!  Take control of the medical outcome of your body.  No one will care about you as earnestly as you will!!!!!

After what my Mom went through, playing the waiting game, and we had diagnosis (stage 4 lung cancer adnocarcinoma) Jan 22, 2009, chemo supposed to start Jan 29, 2009, and she passed away unexpectedly Jan 27, 2009 I would go get your 2nd opinion now.  I begged my Mom to press the drs.  So if anything came out of my loss it would be to tell others to get help quicker.  Sometimes you have to be your own advocate.  If I personally knew I had nodules I would go to another dr.  Someone willing to move faster in case you might be a long term survivor.  My Mom had pleural effusion, right lung filled, 2 lymph nodes in chest, and 2 small nodules in left lung.  Her only outward symptoms were a cough, and then hard to breath (due to right lung filled).  Never had any pain.  The oncologist did not give her and my father the impression to say goodbyes on the dr visit Jan 22, 2009.

I wouldn't wait for 6 weeks..my ct scan said the same thing and my nodules are a little smaller and they sent me to an oncologist right away and I'm having a mediastinocopy this thursday at uva. The only symptom I had was wheezing occassionaly and it was caught incidentally when they did a ct scan of my abdomen. I started a post and asked the doctor several questions if you want to look at it.. it's listed under this topic.  (multiple lung nodules on both sides of the lung or something like that). They sent me for a pet scan 2 days later but I was throwing up from an unrelated condition and couldn't lie still for them to do it. The doctor said that they were probably too small to show up and might create a false positive. Good luck to both of us..some of your symptoms sound like what i've read about both non hodgkins lymphoma and hodgkins..I've read that the latter is much more predictable.
