Hi.
Pleural thickening generally refers to inflammation of the outer layers of lung, or the cavity that houses the lung. This may occur with infection - in which case in the absence of symptoms - shouldn't be a cause for alarm.
Subpleural nodules mean there may be lumps growing in the area. These may also mean infection, it may also point towards malignancy. If the lining of the lung is involved - its best to determine if there are risk factors such as occupational exposure to asbestos.
Best to discuss these findings with your physician and make a paln of what to do next.
"FOCAL PLEURAL THICKENING" sounds like thickening of the lining of your lung (pleura) OR "TINY SUBPLEURAL NODULES" sounds like nodules under the pleura. Talk to your doctor about these findings.
