Lung Cancer !!

Hi !
Spot on my Lung- "Discovered in Mid-january",.-size less than 3cm,- new CT taken 2 weeks ago, spot has not increased in size,- through lungneedlebiopsy it has been confirmed " a new type of cancer", an Open Lung Surgery has  been recommended,- only type of surgery done in Norway ! Am in Spain now,.- hoping for a less invasive type of surgery,.-had new CT   taken last week,.- after Easter going to the Doctor, hoping the  placement of the "SPOT"   - only  requires  partly  removal of my RIGHT LUNG !       Is it POSSIBLE ,-  that  I  have  had  this  SPOT .- Longer  than 2 Months,- was discovered on a CT.  Requested  by Me,  after I had an infection on  the Lining of My Right Lung in Mid-desember !  Thanks  !!

Hi,

Chances are that the cancer has been present there for years. It is hard to say when the cancer becomes detectable with imaging tools like the CT scan.  Since it is already 3 cm, chances are it would have been 1 cm since a year ago. It would have been detectable by that time.
You may feel that the world is on your shoulders now with this problem. But actually, you are among the few who are diagnosed early enough to become a candidate for surgical resection.
