Mass shown near thyroid after CT scan of neck

Hi my hasband had a lung removed to cancer about 3 years ago...all went well, then he started having neck pain, he was diagnosed with cervical spondolosis...he tried physical therapy , etc nothing helped, then he had a bad sinus infection, after which he has never been the same, pale, weak, tired, passed out twice he had to be rushed to emergency.    Lots of test was done, brain scan, mri,  chest xray, thyroid test, you name it, all came back okay, except his CEA count was elevated....so because of that they would not do the surgery for the neck.   Then today he did a CT scan of the chest and it showed a mass from the thyroid to the aorta...I am trying not to worry, but this does not look good , does it?

Hi,

It would be best to discuss things with your doctor. The prognoses of masses in that area have a variety of outcomes, and some are curable. Stay positive.
