Sore Chest...like a sore throat....

Hello, My name is Melissa, I am 27 years old and I have been having a soreness in my chest and throat (it feels like a sore throat feels, but in my chest as well) when I breathe in for, oh, about 10 months now.  It comes and goes.....when it goes I have this delusion that it's ok to smoke again, and then when I feel the soreness, I get scared and quit....the cycle continues.  I have been smoking for 11 years and am having a horrible time quitting, even with this pain.  I am a culinary student and I am not working...does anyone know what my options are on seeing a doctor when I have no health insurance?  What do any of you think it could be?  Lung Cancer?  I am really freaking out.  Thank you in advance...

hi! your local county hospital has doctors who will see you, and charge you based on your income and ability to pay.  some even see patients for free.  Another option is to go to the nearest intern/resident training program.

you should see someone.  That's a long time to have a sore chest and throat.  you never know.  it might be, but you don't know until you get checked...
