follow up to what does all this mean

I have had my pet-scan done and here is the report.

The -whole -body FDG PET scan shows a large right upper lobe mass. The SUV uptake ratio is ranging between 3.6 to 5.7 the lesion does extend into the mediastinum through the paraspinal region.

No other abnormalities were seen in the lung parenchyma.

Does this mean I have one tumor in my right lung.

Well I had the biopsy and it came back negative to my relief, but they still do not know what it is and have referred me to a pulmonary DR.
Any ideas, you have been spot on and very good.

Hi,
What the PET tells is that it is single. The SUV for malignancy and benign changes have some overlap so if there is enough suspicion that this is likely malignant - the next step would be to plan the biopsy.
