6 cm in size

Lung nodule 6 cm in size seen on CT scan. But Dr. Ordered another one about 6 months later. With it being this size on first scan. Why wait longer? Why not remove it? Everything I have read up on is if it larger the.3 cm,it would be called mass. But Dr.only said it was nodule.

Shape, calcification (or not), and size are the drivers in how soon a repeat scan is recommended.  6mm is at the lower end of the size scale where a 3-month follow up might have been recommended instead of 6 months.  Have you had a repeat scan yet or having one in the near future?
