vent and scared

I have a vent...why is it that some guys just seem to blow off important things?1? I was in the living room while Cadence was in her swing behind me. Eric was in the office on the computer. I heard a strange noise an Cady was choking on her spitup. I jumped up n got het upright which is the only thing we were told an attack would help. He comes into the room as I start crying. His comment was well she seems ok now. Seriously!?!! Shed be choking to death if I wasn't there...of course she is ok now.....am I blowing things out of proportion? I keep thinking if I wasn't here he'd still have been on the computer while she was in her swing....which could mean sje would be dead right now....how do I explain why I am pissed at him?

Well I hope she gross out of it..its just her body figuring out how to work properly with a baby everything is hard to figure out the first time around especially when u r a new parent one thing that I do that is really bad and I need to change if something is wrong with kendrick I like freak out and scream for garys name and turn away from kendrick where I should be helping kendrick its like im helpless and my mind goes blank when thoses situations happen and I gotta work on that

When men freak out about somethimg they temd to block it for some reason. My bf cameto me in tears with zachary saying he broke him lol. He was feeding.him and he threw up and started coughing to tje point of purple.so i showed him.what to do in case it happens again. Took a good 3 weeks before he feed the boys again. Lets face it, we all thought being pregnant was scarey, but raising a new born is the real.definition of fear lol

Kat, thank your man for me. What happens is the reflux comes up and starts to spill over into the other pipe going to the lungs. Her body spasms so the flap closes over that pipe and seizes her vocal cords, so she can't breath, or can minimally breath and can't make a noise like a cry. It's possible that you are right. He made a comment that he does care about Cady more than he may let on. Ugg introverts.

You arent being over protective my husband says that to me all the time and if I am so what im his mother and I have every right to be over protective if I want to be..honestly I would freak out if that happened to kendrick really I would be constantly looking at kendrick..so like what happens with her she doesnt know how to cough it up ? I just talked to my hubby about it and he says that u werent and he was surprised at your man for not doing anything..I just think its something like just freaks your man out and I think maybe he thinks deeper into the situation and the thought of losing his child freaks him out so maybe he just doesnt want tp face reality and the fact she has this issue

I hope she grows out of thus soon too. At first he said I was too overprotective and then he was saying that he tries to stay calm in a crisis and that he doesn't show emotion well. By the end he basically asked if he was taking Cady too often and not giving me enough time. Not sure we figured how to fix things but I shared why and what for me feeling the way I am. Hope it helps.

I understand your concern for sure, but maybe he was trying to not make a scene of the situation? You know what i mean, like being calm about it might lessen the severity of it? I don't think guys know how to deal with stressful situations sometimes and try to downplay it, and because he didn't actually see/hear cady choking he doesn't get it, he walked into the room after you had already tended to her. But he still needs to realise how scared you are about it, and thats perfectly natural, its such a scary situation you are dealing with. I really hope she outgrows this soon.

I agree with mizzz. If there is a fight about it,.stand your ground mama. Baby amd her safety comes first and all must be on the same.page regardless if feeling get hurt by telling someone whats up. They will get over it.

Thanks. I'm afraid when he gets home from band practice there will be a fight. Although our fights is usually me mad and him internalizing without understanding.

I don think you're overreacting at all considering your baby's situation. I do think, unfortunately, that guys just don't get it sometimes.

I don't think you are over reacting. With the bad episodes she's had I would of probably reacted the same way. Yeah there is a chance that she could of cleared her throat by herself but she's still so young why chance it.
I think he's under-reacting a little to her and his response to you was a little insensitive. Yeah you cried but you were scared and I'm sure frustrated and that's how a lot of us women deal with those emotions. I don't know how to get your feelings about this across because I probably would of started a fight about it which wouldn't do any good.
