She fought a rough battle. That type of cancer is very hard to get under control and very painful before death as well. My heart goes out to her family and to Ryan. I always thought she was so pretty and she was a great actress as well.
I guess your observation reinforces my comment. I have stopped watching the news on a diy basis as it is way to neg for this easily influenced mind. My hubby keeps me informed and every so often i will tune in for an update.
twehner5 The fact thay Farrahs passing was mentioned on MH first goes to show we as a whole are conscious indivuals. Besides the fact that Farrah passed several hours before Michael goes to reason she would be first. However, since Michael's death how many times was she mentioned first or even at all?
It kind of bothered me that our paper this morning dedicated three fourths of the front page and inside page to Michael and about one fourth of it to Farrah. I know it was more of a shock about Michael because it was unexpected. We were more prepared for Farrah's death, but still I felt that was a bit disrespectful to her. It also seemed the TV specials did the same thing, most of it dedicated to him and just a little to her. Just an observation.
Very very sad story she was to young
It's funny you'd mention that. Farrah's death was announced on Social B4 Michael Jackson's was.... I, too, feel like her life is being overshadowed by his death.
I was so sad to hear about Farrah. Michael Jackson is sad to but I find myself passing judgement on our society and media. In almost all of the reports I heard Michael was announced first and Farrah seemed like just an after thought. Both influenced our societies but at so many things where at opposite ends of the spectrum. I believe it would have been more respectful and positive for the younger people in society to hear about Farrah first the Michael. I just feel that putting him 1st gives the message that all the questionable and nonquestional behavior of Michael was acceptable. To use a lady that showed bravery ,commentment to others, and lived a life even though not perfect had alot of positive that others could look up to.
I saw part of that too and was impressed and humbled that she was willing to show herself at her worst like that, losing her hair, looking so thin, pale and haggard and even throwing up. Yes, that's the ugliness of cancer. I sure wish we could find a cure for this ugly disease.
I thought Farrah was incredibly brave to make that documentary about what cancer treatment is really like. I found it difficult to watch because it brought up so many bad memories, but it really did show the truth about that horrible treatment. What a courageous woman. May she rest in peace.
I hope no 'botty' jokes come out of her passing. It is a rare type of cancer but not totally unheard of. I can imagine some horrible comedians making fun of the type of cancer she had. Of course I can't type the word coz it will be blocked!
How many of us emulated her hair! I know I did! She was always my favourite Angel!
RIP Farrah.
ABC and NBC (I think it was NBC or maybe CBS - LOL) both had one hour shows on each of them. I watch ABC mostly on the Farrah part. The one about Michael was sad too. Man, unbelievable!
Farrah's doctor actually teared up talking with Barbara Walters tonight and when she asked him what Farrah's final words were to him he said, "Thank you." Man, just that made me cry. Then Barbara had interviewed Ryan, one of Farrah's best friends and Jaclyn Smith last week and they aired parts of that too - Jaclyn really teared up and that touched me. Then, Ryan was so emotional especially when talking about Redman not being able to be with her and he teared up and you could see he was a mess. I felt so badly for him that he wanted to marry her and that she died before he could. But, you are right, April, they are soul mates! I'm glad she was happy and knew love. Ryan apparently spoke with her for a long time and was still with her talking with her when she died.
I was trying to watch that special and the special they had on Michael Jackson and had to flip back and forth between channels! I wish they could have done one an hour earlier or something.
Yes, it's sad that they both died. Ryan said he had asked Farrah to marry him and she said yes but it was too late. Still, they were soul mates, from what I heard, and had been for 30 years. How sad that her son, Redman couldn't be by his mom's side at the end, although I guess he did get to talk to her on the phone yesterday.
She fought a brave fight.
I'm watching ABCs show about Farrah and I'm sitting here crying - what an amazing woman! I adore her and am so sad for her family!
I loved Charlies Angels.. she fought so hard and so bravely....I am sad .
One of the episodes of Charlies Angels was filmed at Swampy's high school. This was right before Swampy attended, so he didn't get to meet her. She did, however, sign the lockers, which was cool.
She has had a long hard battle. I hope she is at peace now.
My heart goes out to her family and especially her son. She really did suffer but what a strong woman! Apparently, she finally told Ryan that she would marry him and I'm so sad that she was not able to do that before she died. God bless her and her family!!! She will be missed - what a wonderful person!
She was only 62 and was diagnosed with anal cancer at 59. That was a fast cancer. I've never even heard of that cancer, although I guess you can get cancer of anything. Is this a particularly rare cancer?
I was sad to hear of her passing too. They said Ryan was at her side. How sad. God bless her.
OH! She has been suffering for so long! Poor thing. Sad as I am to see her go, she's better off now. I had heard that family had been summoned to her side, but not that she had died. Hmmm.
