I have had two serious operations and many diagnostic ones this year , im looking forward to none next year and getting strong enough to get a part time job and take some college classes.
Mine would be financial reasons. My DH owns his own business and has advertised with this company for years until he began working on building our own house and so he took a year off to do all the work himself. He called the company back and wanted them to turn his business name account back on so he could get calls for jobs. After 7 months NOTHING!! He wondered why he didn't get any calls at all so he calls the company back and asks them to add another city in his calling list, ofcourse it's an extra 650 a month, but he needed to do something! The guy is going over his account information to make sure he has everything correct for the new listing.. and found out that this whole time, for the last 7 months, they had our phone number WRONG!!! ugh!!! So, they ended up fixing it and giving him 7000.00 in free advertising along with the next year free, but it still doesn't even compare to what he "would" have made!
So...... Here's to a whole new beginning for all of us!!!
Good Luck to you also!!
2008 really sucked 2009 just has to be better cause if it is not i want a tree and a rope...lol
I dont know... I had my girls, so 2007/08 was wonderful for me, even with all the hardships I faced, hope everyones year is better for them
Financially i think we are all going to be screwed in 2009..........
Yes looking forward to 2009 this year has sucked for so many people it may get worse but we know it will get better eventually,we have to look forward ,and we will have a new leader and a new government , they cant do any worse than the last lot ..or can they ?
I'm also looking forward to the new year and hoping/working towards better health.
i think we are going to be beyond screwed when it comes to money for the next several years..
2008 was truly in the toilet. Bad health, bad doctor, and 5 deaths. So I'm thinking that 2009 has to be my year. Hope that my oncologist has good news and that I find myself a nice and trust worthy Endo. I feel good about 2009. For some reason I am now hearing James Brown singing " I feel good". LOL. Oh no, not another one of those songs that will be stuck playing over and over in my head. Oh well, atleast it's a happy song and one that make you want to dance.
being involved in property trading, '08 was a dung year. The rest of it I've already posted on 'annus horribilus'. We've got a new government in NZ also, and with it optimism. If we're gonna be screwed we might as well have smiles on our dials.
thanks---now I got I feel good stuck in my brain..LOL\
Brian ---hope your wrong about the finances but dont think ya will be
Margy--the new administations gotta be at the very least uplifting of hope, his popularity rating was up to 67% highest of any in a long time people need hope
for all with health problems --group prayer ok?
baby prayers god bless you, read my post in Dec 08 babies forum cool christmas idea.
Well I know people are from different political backgrounds and I'm not one to side with any politician 100% but the new administration seems more disability friendly as for very specific laws I've spoken about. As to whether we see some form of national healthcare I remain skeptical. Many politicians have promised that. And I do think we'll be out of this financial mess for a while but if the politicians on both sides of the political spectrum work together then its a possibility.
And for myself its been a year where I mentally recovered but acquired a severe physical disability but now in recovery for that. I don't expect my life will be the same but in many ways its much better. Living in the real world mentally is essential and what's physical I can cope with and the treatment for that is working so there's improvement. I do look forward to a better year but I learned just to look forward in general. The more I look towards the past and regret the less I will recover. The more I look forward to the future and hope the more I will achieve. I think that way of thinking works for everyone. Regardless of background or belief system.
It has to be better thats why we continue so it will get better.
Good attitudes, yes it does have to get better and looking backwards is bad for our mental well being...like both your attitutudes. yesterday is gone. today we deal with ..tommrow we hope
Oh yes! 2008 can't be over too soon! I had a cancer scare and abdominal surgery, dealt with many health problems around my Mom and lost my job. I have to believe that next year will be better!
I've been struggling with some health issues this year, but I am healing as well. I actually had a good year... despite many challenges.
I know 2009 is going to be challenging, but have high hopes for President Elect Obama.
Wishing you all a better New Year !
My honest opinion....same sh!t, different day.
I'm with Trudie!
I had a cancer scare with my hubby, injured both feet and was on crutches for 3 months, serious health problems with my mother, and I lost my job as of this month!
I can't wait to start the new year. I has to be better than 2008....a year of loss for me, and many others. 2009 has to be a time for new beginings.
