Star Trek Question
Who do you think was the best Star Trek captain - Kirk, Picard, Cisco or Janeway? Why?
As far as acting goes Picard was the best.
On the other hand, Gene Roddenberr, ann unusual man, former WWII bomber pilot, airline captain and Los Angeles Police Officer, had a vision when he created the series.
His intention was to promote morality, righteousness, and to push mankind in a better direction.
With no exceptions, every "Captain" has turned out to be a narcisistic nothing-burger in real life. They all love three people. Me, myself and I.
Because of the tremendous influence of the fictional character, when leaving the series the "Captains" had the chance to influence millions. To raise money for birth defects. To help cure cancer. To promote world peace.
Instead, all have turned out to be ciphers on the stage of life, Kirk, being the biggest cipher.
I find this very sad.

Bill Shatner has something that I have yet to see with anyone else, maybe ever...It's his eyes....they always have a sparkle to them. I watched him in an old Gunsmoke episode. He was a rotten person and enjoyed being a rotten person immensely. He grinned the whole time he was being bad...even Matthew liked him.

Kirk "is and always will be" my one and only. though I too had a certain fondness for Captn Archer who was not listed.
I did get to see the new movie however and being an original trek fan, was quite prepared to bombard the film with abusive tones and be totally mean and unforgiving..
But........IT ROCKED. I loved the new movie. I found that they did a great job of casting. The new cast was awesome about picking up some of the character traits of our old dear ones and they brought the new as well. So...heading? "First star on the right and on" to the next exciting adventure. I hope they are filming as we speak.

Captain Picard is probably my favorite, but Cisco had to put up with a lot on DS9, so it's a hard choice. I love all series of Star Trek, and all of the captains! :)
I love all the Captains! They all brought something special of their own character to each episode. I was the Australian Star Trek Treasurer of the, way back when , one of only 2 fan clubs in Australia...aaaah the memories!
Kirk was the ONLY captain - sorry Scottie - but the Picard did have some interesting moments and he made bald beautiful lol

Picard - played by a classically trained actor and hot!
You missed Archer from the show Enterprise. I loved that show and he was a great captain. My 2nd choice is Picard.
