Sauce for french fries (chips?)

What is the correct dipping sauce for french fries (chips for any Brits out there)

Very rarely when I go to McDonald's I like to dip my fries in the hot mustard sauce that they use for the nuggets.  Yummy!!!!

Also, Malt Vinegar is great and I love Gravy and also ranch dressing.  

Margy,  I Love Fish & Chips and we have a pub here that makes them so cripy and battery.  They are so good.

if its Mcdonalds fries, bbq sauce and honey.
if its Chik-fil-a fries, honey mustard
if its Wendys fries, chocolate frosty
if its crinkle fries at home, sprinkle with season-all-salt and ketchup
if its Logans, honey mustard

I guess it just all depends on where I go!!

You know what Swampy after reading this the other day, you made me hungry so I went to the new local resturant and had a plate of fries with brown gravy, salt and pepper it was sooooo yummy,,I think I gained a lb or two !!

vinegar is fine with me too(even if i have to steal it from the jellyfish medkit),
will have to try that utah 'fry sauce', never heard of that one(the bbq one sounds good),
will give the french stuff a miss though

A lot of Aussies love their chips with tomato sauce (ketchup) I prefer mine with vinegar (Jacqui805 I am with you!) I also am partial to dijonnaise..that's a mayonnaise with mustard seeds...YUMMO!!!

In France, they eat fries with aioli. It's kind of like mayonnaise, but garlicky. I like my fries with aioli, salt and pepper or rouille (also French). I'm a francophile at heart!

In Utah we have something called "Fry Sauce."  YUM!!!!  It's a combination of mayo and ketchup and some people use BBQ sauce in with the mayo instead.  It's to die for!  I had never had anything like this with my fries back East, but when I moved here and had it the first time I was in heaven!  LOL!!!!

I like "thousand island" dressing. It is really good. My other favorite is good-ole Ketchup.

i couldn't pick one. there are so many different things i like on my fries. ketchup, bbq sauce, honey, cheese, gravy, a1 (i tried it by accident once and it was omg good!!!), ranch dressing or sweet and sour sauce. arby's sauce is good to.

I do like ketchup or gravy or curry sauce.  There is a restaurant that has an amazing dill sauce (similar to ranch) that I like.  But the French Canadian way to eat them that beats them all is poutine - fries with cheese curds and beef gravy.  Marvelous!

Mayo is what the people in Belgium use to dip their fries in. I guess we shouldn't dismiss it until we've tried it. I say this because the French didn't invent French fries, the Belgiums did !
