In 1991, at which time I lived in Scandinavia, I had a complete hysterectomy, which included the removal of my fallopian tubes and ovaries and the cervix.
The reason for the hysterectomy was a large (9x8x7cm)cyst on my left ovary, which was also found to be attached to my sigmoid colon (translating here)and other parts; because they could not work the cyst free they removed just about everything, leaving only a piece of ovary on the sigmoid colon.(There were problems and they had to do a vaginal hysterectomy first.)
Over the years since then, I have taken estradiol 2mg/estriol 1mg which was prescribed for me soon after by my PCP, which caused no problems. I did have another cyst removed from my colon three years ago, which was in exactly the same site.
My question are about estradiol/estriol: is there any reason to stop taking this combination that worked for me for so many years. If there are reasons for stopping, what these might be and how they might manifest themselves. And is there any literature on this. Thank you.
