I think this is a spam mail because in the profile, it says the person is 29. plus there is nothing else posted.
I think that we all need to be careful with some of the herbal products in so far as we often don't know where our levels are of hormones.
For instance, we can load up on products that stimulate estrogen (such as soy and other herbal preps) which can upset a balance needed between estrogen and progesterone. During menopause, both levels drop but, progesterone drops the most. So, while our estrogen levels fall by a certain percentage, our progesterone may drop far more. That may leave us estrogen dominant and adding more products that stimulate estrogen can lead to things like a thickening of the endometrium which, over time, can lead to precancerous or even cancerous situations. Estrogen and estrogen like compounds can be stored in fat while progesterone can't (especially if we are already overweight). More often than not, women are more deficient in progesterone than estrogen and that's why it's important to know what our levels are before we start loading up on herbal and other supplements.
You might want to run this past your family physician first before you start into any regiment of herbal/chinese supplements and get his/her blessings on it first. Proper diet, exercise, a good mulitivitamin, extra calcium, vitamin D, B vitamins, Omega/fish oils are all pretty safe bets.
That's just my two cents worth though from personal experience. Others have had great success with some of the alternative remedies. :)
Hi Dawn,
I've never heard of that particular product, but I can tell you from experience that some natural/herbal products really do work - at least for many of us. I found my personal oasis in an herbal liquid called Wisdom Menopause Formula, which really came to my rescue when I had to quit HRT last winter due to the side effects from the hormones.
For me, it did a better job of taking care of my miserable hot flashes and night sweats than the hormones did, plus it really helped with my anxiety, mood swings and nervousness, which the HRT only seemed to make worse.
I've also heard others say that they've had good results with evening primrose oil, B-vitamin supplements, black cohosh and soy, and of course many women get relief with conventional or bioidentical hormone supplements.
But one size does not fit all when it comes to menopause, so you may have a bit of trial and error before you find what works best for you.
