Postmenopausal bleeding - petrified

Has anyone had postmenopausal bleeding that was not cancer? I am so petrified. This month I have had 2 instances of slight bleeding. I have been postmenopausal for about 8 years. Never been on hormone replacement nor had any children. I did have thyroid cancer a few years ago which prompted the removal of my thyroid and am currently on medication which keeps my TSH level extremely low to prevent any reoccurrence - I am doing fine with that. Also, under alot of stress due to losing my job which I know doesn't help the situation.

I have a gyn appt this Monday but cannot sleep and am worrying myself sick.....

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who had this and did not turn out to be cancer. Thank you!

Carole

Thank you so much for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. I am trying to stay calm and positive until I go Monday to see the doctor but I have to admit it is difficult.

I have to try to stop continuously going to the bathroom to check for blood because I think I am irritating myself.lol...

Hi Carol,
I've had a handful of patients in their 60s who had estrogen/progesterone levels change because of endocrine issues, high stress levels (caused high blood pressure) and medication changes (and one because she was having sex with her husband after he was putting his testosterone gel medication on his scrotum!) that caused post menopausal bleeding. One even had a uterine fibroid that would break a small blood vessel occasionally on her uterine wall when she had a bowel movement. Weird, I know, but none of these we from cancer. I can't imagine what is going through you mind right now, but hang in there and hope for good news. I'll keep you in my prayers...((((((HUGZ)))))))~MM
