By the lab ranges, your estrogen is on the high side. But in the perimenopausal time frame leading up to menopause, hormone levels can fluctuate wildly and can cause just as many "menopausal" symptoms as low estrogen.
Thank you so much for the information. Unfortunately the lab did not break down my estrogen separately. From what you said, would you say my total estrogen is high? Should I get a second opinion or retest in a month? And is it safe for me to assume I'm far from menopause? Thanks for your time and help!! I'm a little lost and new to all this.
Ranges can vary a bit by lab. However, they should not be radically different. Estradiol, estrone, and estriol are forms of estrogen with estradiol and estrone being the primary (and maybe only) systemic forms of estrogen. My lab's ranges show a max non-pregnancy and non-menopausal value of estradiol to be 498 pg/mL and estrone 268 pg/mL. Estradiol can exceed 4300 in the first trimester of pregnancy. And post-menopausal levels are less than 54 and less than 65, respectively.
