hrt help

i recently came across a site that discussed "tailor made hrt", which appears to be a mixture of hormones especially made for the individual person which can be adjusted until exactly the right combination can be found.
Question: has anyone heard of this in the US, since this was a UK site.  and if so do you know if there would be any such wizardry in Houston, TX?  i am tired of dealing what feels like bottom of the class med-school graduates, or truly disinterested physicians, who are only looking for the almighty dollar.  i am ready for a solution so that i can once again have quality in my life, and hopefully hair again as well.  thanks.  reci

I have a ton of information about the Bioidentical hormones which I am assuming you are referring to since they can quite literally be tailor made to what your body needs as long as you have the levels checked regularly. What we think of today as HRT was developed in response to the bioidenticals way back in the 60's and even earlier than that for some products. "Natural" or "Botanical" were other names for them.

I have used them since 2000 and have continued to research them even to today. Unfortunately they don't get as much press except to be bad-mouthed (my opinion) when they are sometimes mentioned since there is so much utter confusion about them and also people link them to HRT, which are patented drugs that suppress menopausal symptoms whereas the bio's replenish what your body used to make but in balance. Any hormone out of balance can cause problems, but hormones per se are not the enemy.

Let me know if you are still interested and I will post more and direct you to other posts and resources. I have been spending a ton of time posting over the past few months (my 5th year with MedHelp as a member, though) and sometimes if I don't hear back from someone to whom I posted....even just to let me know if they have seen the post, then I assume that the member is gone or not checking the site....

Take care...there is hope and you can feel better.

If you turn your name "blue" by just adding a few things to your profile...or even just setting one up, you can send messages to others...I love this feature!

I think what you are reading about is the bioidentical hormones.  Views on them are mixed as with traditional hrt.
