I was recently diagnosed as perimenopausal. I, too, have heart palpitations. I have has an echo test, which came back fine, it just showed that I was under too much stress. My heart just pounds and sometimes rapidly. It is beyond scary. I have started taking Xanax and this is the only thing that has really helped.
I have done everything a person can do. I stopped smoking a year 1/2 ago. I stopped drinking soda and coffee, I stopped eating processed foods, I do not eat carbs, I do not consume salt. I have literally done everything a person can do. It is SO FRUSTRATING.
One thing I just did, which you might helpful, is to have your cortisol levels checked. Our adrenal system is closely related to our hormones, so if your adrenals are having issues, it will effect hormones and could in turn cause heart palpitations. Also, if progesterone is off, that could cause it. Additionally, low Magnesium, low Vitamin D, low B12, - all an cause heart palpitations.
Get a full panel done and see. Maybe it will be something as simple as a vitamin deficiency. Hope this helps... God Bless.
Hello,
You have not mentioned whether the stress ECHO and holter report came normal or not. Most people with PVS’ do not need treatment and improve with avoiding smoking and caffeine. also avoid taking any stress.
If the symptoms persist then beta blockers may be needed. Other medications, such as calcium channel blockers, or anti-arrhythmic drugs, such as amiodarone, also may be used if you have ventricular tachycardia or very frequent premature ventricular contractions
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
