I'm not sure what bumps are on genitals

Hello, I'm a 15 year old boy and I've started shaving my genitals because I'm a swimmer and the hairs started getting out of my swimsuit. It's been about 3 months i first shaved but now I've started getting red little dots above my penis. They itch some times, but i try not to touch them. I have never had sex or any kind of "skin to skin" contact. Could it be linked with me shaving. I also have oral herpes. Maybe I have genital herpes too. I too scared to tell my mom or dad.

Hi. Did you figure out what it was? It sounds like pimples, cysts, ingrown hairs or papules that won't do any harm because herpes is usually painful, and you didn't have any skin-to-skin contact to get genital herpes from oral herpes. Could also be the irritation from shaving, which happens due to tight clothing or rubbing.

Hey, try not to worry.  You wouldn't get oral herpes on your genitals if you haven't had sexual activity. It's pretty rare to transfer oral herpes to genitals in the first place but you HAVE to transfer it and you haven't had activity.  Just having oral herpes yourself wouldn't result in HSV 1 (oral herpes) on your genitals.

So, we have hair follicles that can raise like you describe after shaving.  Or you could be having a skin reaction in a sensitive area to chlorine of the pool.

You are 15. It is reasonable to begin having your annual check up with the doctor without your mom in the room.  At that time, you can ask the doctor.  That is nothing to be embarrassed about because docs look at this stuff all the time.  And this is clearly a skin issue and not anything that you should be embarrassed to tell your parents about.  they have genitals too and know skin things can happen there.
