Male yeast infection

I continue to get what my dermatologist says is a male yeat infection or contact dermatitis around my scrotum.   It seems to be a reoccuring problem in which continues to prescribe oxistat and hydrocortizone 2%.  I want to know why it keeps coming back and can the hydrocortizone 2% cause skin peeling and further irritation.  thanks for the help

hydrocortizone 2% can make the skin very thin over time, I have used it, prescribed, and then my doc told me to stop, enough, that it was making my skin thin and she was not sure if it would grow back or not.  Do you dry your crotch with a hair dryer after showering? They have a product called Glide you can put on like deodorant down there that helps keep that area dry.
Also what is your weight please?

If you look on the website of the particular product you are using, in either the side-effects section or the FAQs they might have the answer to your question.  They might also have an 800 number you can call.

Regarding why it comes back, well ...

1.  It could be just a very persistent infection that doesn't get cured without super-diligent application of the meds.

2.  You could be getting re-infected after being cured:
     -  from a partner
     -  from your clothing (what are you using to wash your underwear?)
     -  from your remote control or your computer keyboard putting something on your fingers that passes to your private parts when you touch them (when was the last time you put hand sanitizer on your remote?  Supposedly they are the germiest and most virus-laden object in the house.)

Good luck figuring it out.
