Not sure what I have

Well to start I want to say i'm 16, and i'm a guy. Anyways, like the title says, I'm not sure what I have. I find myself thinking a lot, I'm usually rhyming words in my head, adding letters, that are in words, together, like "pig" p - i = g  ( 16 - 9 = 7). I also list words in my head by how many letters they have and in alphabetical order. For example, "them, then, they, their, there." I have random outbursts of energy sometimes, I'm not sure if that applies. I tried to ask my friends mom about it because she works with illnesses, but she thought we were high. I told my mom about it, but she said to just deal with it instead of using medication. So since all else failed, I want to at least know what it is. Any other questions just ask.

Hi,
Mostly all these are happening because of the high rush of hormones that flow in your body during these years and will get settled as you grow up. But your becoming aware of it and getting worried is not alright. You should put an effort to spend time more in your studies and creative work and try to get a control of your mind, best thing to do is to get engaged in some useful work that interests you most. As already advised, seeing a doctor or an experienced counselor  will be of great help to you at this stage if it disturbs you too much.

I noticed it starting to happen a few years back, it seems like i only think about it when i'm not doing anything, like i'll just zone off and do it while i'm in school, but when i'm around my friends i don't do it at all.

When did these thoughts start happening, has it been going on for a long time or just recently? Your mom should take you to the Dr to find out what's going on. It could be anxiety, ADD or something else. I am not a Dr so I can't say for sure. Stress to your mom how much this is bothering you and you need to see the Dr. If she won't listen, see your school counselor.
