Issue with the Penis, Help!

Bloody hell... I've posted about this before in the Urology forum, and yet here I go again:

About 5 months ago I pulled the skin on the dorsal (upper) side of my penis too far back while showering, and felt a sharp pain about 3/4 of the way up, right were the dorsal vein and nerves run.  I had felt this pain occasionally for years before, always while masturbating, but it had gone away and I had taken it merely as a sign that alot was going on in there as afr as blood circulation was going.  never was his pain so severe as to cause alarm, either.

Well, after pulling my penis 5 months ago, though I still was able to get an erection I noticed it wasn't the same, somehow.  Also, there was a lump right where I felt the pain, the veins running out of this area (antler-like) were more prominent, and what I believe to be the dorsal vein running up to that area was much more prominent, too, and displaced to the right.  The lump was exactly where I felt the pain, and seemed to be attached to the dorsal vein, or overlapping it somehow.  My "morning wood" disappeared, too.

It has been worrying me on-and-off, but last night it began worrying me again.  I took up jogging and quit smoking after the initial pull, and found that it didn't really hurt, and that I was able to maintain erection better than ever (probably because of no smoking/exercise).  However, I still felt periodical pain in the lump, and occasional loss of sensitivity in the area above the lump during masturbation.

Last night the lump hurt again, and I am just about fed up with this shite...

I should stress that I have a vivid imagination, and I may be exaggerating this to myself.  I can, after all, still maintain erection (at least up to now - I hope all goes well after last night), and it usually works fine.

Any ideas as to what this lump is?  I know it's hard to say for you guys, but do you think it's possibly a thrombosed vein, or phlebitis, nerve damage, or venous leakage?  These are some of the things that I have come across in my searches.

Thanks, everybody, you're all great, may you bask in sunshine all your days... etc...

Thanks, crazywillie, it's great of you to help like this.  As you say, there's an odd kind of comfort in these forums, knowing that there are real people out there talking to you, albeit anonymously, and it's so unlike the propagandized, biased opinions which you encounter elsewhere on the net.  Sometimes after surfing the net for info on my condition, my mood would be killed for a whole day or two, just depending on the type of info I came across... it buries itself deep in you brain... ugh!

Yep, as those Beatles said, "I have to admit it's getting better all the time..." and joining this website has helped to a great degree.  I'm a tad anxious about the urologist, but I'll be ready this time!  last time I went he pretty much dismissed me immediately, but I kind of focused on nthe wrong issues.  I complained about what I took to be Peyronie's scarring on the left side of the base of my penis, which is miniscule, and which I no longer think twice about, forgetting about the lump which is the real problem.  Just goes to show, though, how focusing on something will make it seem worse...  he laughed, and said, "Now now, young one, it's not Peyronie's... you're too young!"  Of course he was right.

Thanks, pal!  Hope you have a great 2008!

Good luck newdude, dont worry to much, I guess most folks on the internet look up medical problems when they get things wrong with them.

For some crazy reason most medical sites tend to dwell on the worst case senario, like I have a pimple on my backside, by the time you Google pimple on backside and read everything you have a raging cancer an your a$$, not a good policy and can frighten s-it out of some folks.

That my friend is why I have taken a liking to the Medhelp forum its not to full on and some of the replies can put the readed into a better frame of mind.

Have to admitt though if I was realy worried about a heath problem I would make a trip to the doctor, I would most likely make it a last resort though I am not that thrilled about doctors.

Pleased you are going to pay a medical person a visit, crikey Mate I could not handle all that French lingo.

Thanks alot crazywillie, and I mean THANK YOU... it's good to know that someone's listening... it gives me great comfort.  It does sound like it's probably just a burst blood vessel or something like that... maybe scar tissue buildup, too.  The thing is that sometimes it doesn't bother me at all, and I'm fine, and start worrying about stupid trivialities (the human condition, I guess), but then sometimes, like a couple days ago, the lump area starts hurting again, usually during erections, and it causes detumescence, and I have this terrible feeling that I've done some irreparable damage of some kind, and it makes me practically have a nervous breakdown.  Of course, I'm probably exaggerating things with that imagination of mine, and making it worse.

At any rate, I have been taking Ibuprofen anti-inflammatory medication, and am going to see a Urologist soon, armed with a sheet of papaer with all of my questions so that I don't have to call up with another appointment a couple months later.  I live in Quebec, and really need to tackle these medical appointments with vigour, due to the language barrier - and French people around here, particularly professionals (cops especially) tend to think that English speakers are full of bologna as a matter of principle.

Thanks again, crazywillie, may you live long & prosper!  Much appreciated...

Not an expert on non cut penis problems newdude but I wonder could it have been a burst blood vessel that has blocked the blood flow?, you said other veins in the area were more prominent could this be because of some sort of blockage.

Im no doctor but if I had something like that I would be tempted to take something that thinned my blood, 1/2 an Asprin a day is good at blood thinning, best Asprin for blood thinning is "Cartia", does not cause any of the stomach nasties.

I have been taking an Asprin a day to thin my blood, along with the Anti Infammotary drug I take for Arthritis I have little or no side effects, may be a good idea to check your penis with the doctor, dont be worried about telling him you masturbate, chances are the doctor also does it.
