bloody stool and rectal pain

My husband is a 34 yr old truck driver. He has watery bowel movements at least 4 times a day.He has not had a solid bm in about 4 years(either have I,we are not the healthiest eaters, and are major sodaholics).Last week he had pain in his rectum, and last night he had bright red blood in his stool and on the toilet paper. He's scared to death of Cancer or polyps,(there is no history of cancer on either sides of his family)I told him it was probally hemoroids. He wants me to get him some fiber,he thinks this might help him.Could it be his diet and our hemoroids and could sitting on his bum 10 hrs a day contribute to this factor?

I'm sure those things are not helping -- a healthier diet would be a great start. All that sugar from soda can't be good as well... You should try a more well-balanced diet & try to include a lot of veggies into it, especially leafy greens, spinach. Try a cereal in the morning with a really high fiber count. Try a healthier life-style for a three weeks or more & see how it goes, if he's better, then I guess you have your answer. good luck

Joy,
You hit the nail on the head in your own post.  I bet it's hemorrhoids and sitting for that long every day can DEFINITELY play a role.

Have him see the doctor.  He can get suppositories to heal the hemorrhoids (if he has them internally) and get suggestions for a better diet.
