high liver functions

I recently had blood work done. My liver functions were really high with my ALT reading being 140. My AST reading werent as high but was at 48. I am 18 years old. just wondering if i should be worried?

thank you. for your response. i have an appointmeant with a doctor in march. I'm trying to figure out what the cause may be before i go though. i was a heavy drinker 11 years old till i was 15. do you think this may have played a role in this?

Hello,
In your case,SGPT levels are greater than SGOT. Important causes for elevated SGPT are viral hepatitis B and C, fatty liver, certain hepatotoxic drugs, and autoimmune liver diseases. Please get your self evaluated for these conditions from a physician.
