tinnitus?

hi, about 2 months ago i noticed a noise in my ears, the left ear much more than the right. there are no other obvious symptom, no headaches, no dizziness. it doesn't seem to effect my hearing or bother my sleep or life, it's just there. the only medication i taken (since 2006) is 2.5 mg of methimazole (tapazole) to keep my hyperactive thyroid (now in remission) and graves disease (very slight now) in control. i'm thinking about buying some otc stuff to see if that works. anyone have any ideas on what it could be? i do listen to loud loud music when at my cardio kickboxing class, however, i am away now and haven't been there since may 10, and i still have the ringing or noise, like a sharp tuning fork noise or the noise from a hearing test. please let me know if you can shed some light. thanks.

It very well can be from the loud music, but it also can be from:
1.  high blood pressure
2.  too much salt in diet
3.  anxiety

Either way, I've had it due to Meneire's Disease for almost 8 years and there is nothing on the market that my physician ever recommends I use; he calls them all gimmicks. Sorry :(
