Is the ALCAT test bogus?

I had an ALCAT test done a couple of years ago, which produced a scoresheet of "bad" foods for me, semi-bad, somewhat okay and okay ones (my short description), based on some leukocyte examinations under a microscope, I think. Anyway, I have avoided all of the "forbidden" foods  for a few years now, at some cost to my sanity- there were about 100 foods I could no longer enjoy- but I wonder if this was all bogus. Is the ALCAT test a scam? I have been fearful to resume eating the "toxic" foods, fearing that they may cause problems, but I can't get a clear idea if this test is valid and reliable or not. Half the articles online sing its praises; the other half says it's pure quackery. Any thoughts? Thank you very much.

Oh, thank you so much! I haven't been able to meet anyone personally who has had or even knows what the ALCAT test is- only the glorious testimonials online and the two three Integrative Medicine Doctors that I have consulted who sing its praises and say how much it has helped some of their patients. It helps a lot  to try to secure unbiased information, because you can begin to suspect all kinds of trouble will result from eating the forbidden foods. They provide very scary and seemingly believable charts and graphs and pamphlets, when you receive your results, and it seemed maybe believable at first, although avoiding all those foods, (and even with the "green safe" foods, you have to rotate their use), it never changed my health status at all. I'm not even sure why the original doctor ordered it. It was never explained why, nor were all the other Metametrix and other Organix Urine, GI Effects, heavy metal, mold, candida, H Pylori etc, etc tests. ordered. I feel like a fool, but until now, I just played it "safe" by avoiding all those "toxic" foods. Thanks so much for reaching out to me. I will explore the Pulse test, and just try to relax and give up my fears about the ALCAT results.

Hi magster123.

Many people I know had this test and to my surprise, I don't think I recall
anyone who had anything positive to say about it.
A friend emailed me just last week to let me know her test showed OK for
watermelon, yet she gets severely sick when she has it.
Other restricted foods on her list have caused her absolutely no problems.
There may be hidden or delayed reactions. Who knows?

You can do a free test  on your own: Dr. Coca's Pulse Test (free download)
or an elimination diet to verify the results, but for gluten and some other substances you need to stay off them for longer times, as the effects may stay in the body for months!

Hope this helps.
