6 weeks since m/c and still no period

Hi, just wondered what others experiences were.  I had a D&C 6 weeks ago as a result of a missed miscarriage (I was 12 weeks pregnant but fetus was only 7wks 3 days).  I had a womb infection following the D&C so after initially have little bleeding I then had a week of bleeding and discharge.  The discharge continued for about another 4 weeks but only slight and tapering off to nothing (eventually!).  My husband and I started bd'ing about 2 weeks ago (no we haven't used contraception).

So, now here I am at 6 weeks with no period.  I've been having signs that it's about to appear but then it doesn't appear which is a bit confusing.  I took an hpt test on Sat which showed negative.  I now know why it's advisable to wait for your first period before commencing ttc because this is driving me mad.  I don't whether it's my body still not right following the D&C or whether there's a chance I'm pregnant.

So (sorry for rambling)  on average when did others get their first period following a miscarriage, in particular one resulting in a D&C.

Hi, so sorry for your loss. I had a missed miscarriage also, then an incomplete m/c followed finally by a d&c. After the d&c, my period returned after 5 weeks. My OB/GYN said my period would return anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks later. If it is 6 weeks now and you are really concerned you might want to speak to your dr. Or then again you could be pregnant again too.....good luck!
All my best
