After effects from eptopic pregnancy

Hi there- 14 mths ago I had an eptopic pregnancy and had to have my tube removed as the tube had burst, it was an emergancy operation.
My doctor said that I could carry on trying for a baby when i felt ready, and that I would have as much chance as anyone else trying with one tube left. (No luck as yet).
I'm 25yrs old and since then I have had no sex drive, feel very depressed, my body feels very achy and old, and my periods are quite painful. And the past week I have been having pains on my left side above my pelvic area. I have had a period in the last two weeks so I dont believe it is another eptopic and not being so sure on what side my tube was removed im starting to worry that all these problems maybe due to the operation.
Could I have damaged tissue down there or are there any side effects which could arise from this kind operation?
Anyone know what Im talking about please reply.
Thanks, Jenny

On Dec. 31st I had my first eptopic pregnacy.  my tube did not rupture but i had a pint of blood that was blocking in my tube.  i ended up loosing a pint of if not more.  when the surgens looked at my other tube it was perfect (so they say!)  but my left tube was damanaged.  so they ended up taking out my left tube.  my docter told me i could start having kids whenever i felt ready.  5 months later i found out i was pregnant.  i remembered that the doctor told me i will always be a high risk of eptopic and that i needed to be checked as soon as possible i went to the doctor they would not see me then two days later i lost the baby and the other tube it ruptured. no one ever knows the feeling of the pain if they have never experienced the pain

  Hello

I am trying to find information on methatrexate.I have been led to believe my mother took this drug [in 1953]to try and abort me. I survived but was born with severe birth defects. Does anyone know anything about this drug;it's purpose; and was it the abortion drug of choice back in that era? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I had an ectopic pregnancy July of 2003.  I got pregnant in July 5 months after I had a birth and death due to premature labor at 22 weeks.  My HCG levels took a long time to rise, but they got to 1100 and then by aug start to decline.  I went for 3 Ultra sounds because I'm high risk and didn't detect the ectoptic until I was 12 weeks.  During those 12 weeks I was bleeding, had dizzy spells and felt very weak.  After the ectopic the dizzy spells continued, my body still felt weak and I would get headaches, my energy level as at 40%.  Also, during the ectopic my blood pressure would drop extremely low 80/30 this would cause me feel like I was out of my body.  Prior to the ectopic I was pretty healthy person.  Today, I am doing a lot better, but I had to try some holistic techniques.  I did a complete detox cleaning, colonic cleaning and am now taking some herbs to help with fertility and cleaning/promoting good health of the female reproductive organ. I also got in to a really good excercise regime that has contributed to my overall well being.  Unfortunately, I still get the headaches and I also now suffer with ovulation pain.

Is there anything that I can do to prevent another ectopic?

Hi everyone,
Ive just read through your comments and thought I would add my own.
I also had an eptopic pregnancy in 2001, I had taken myself to hospital when I was in severe pain on my lower right side. It turns out that I was pregnant and it was ectopic, I was very confused as there was no lack of periods for me to even think I was pregnant. The same day I found out I was pregnant was the same day it was terminated. The hospital had informed me that I may lose the tube altogether if there was to much damage. After the surgery they told me the tube was taken, I was quite upset. A specialist had spoke to me and told me that my chances of becoming pregnant are very slim and if I was to conceive chances would be that another ectopic could happen. Keep in mind that I already have three children with whom I have fallen pregnant with at the drop of a hat, so I wasnt to fussed at the time.
I now have met a lovely man who has no children and would wish very much to have one with me and I feel the same way.I am currently not taking the pill and the week after my period is very painful, so Im assuming that this is a common thing after experiencing ectopic pregnancies but Im also scared that I may not get pregnant again or if I do it could be eptopic and I may lose my left tube. I will keep you posted on what happens next.

regards
Sandii

Hi

I have just recently been through an eptopic pregnancy.  I had an IVF cycle as my husband and I were ttrying PGD which is genetics testing so as to try an eliminate the Retonoblactoma gene that I carry in my eyes.  I only have about 5% of sight in my right eye and nothing in my left eye.

Anyway this was my 3rd cycle and my first transfer and we were so happy.  I went for my follow up test and found my levels were only 15, 5 days later I went for another and found my levels were 80 and then a week later it jumped up to 921.  And that is when I started to get pain however had been bleeded only slightly all this time.  I was admited to hopstial and they gave me the metroxate injection (kemo inection) to try and kill the pregnancy tissue however I was still in pain and Easter Saturday night I had surgery.  I have since spoken tot he Doctor and he has told me that he did not remove the left tube but made a cut in the tube to remove the pregnancy tissue.  He thinks the tube should heel up by itself but cannot guarantee it.  He then also recmommended that my husband and I try to conveive naturally rather than IVF as I do not respond to the drugs as well as he had hoped.  But he did say that an eptopic pregnancy is now higher for me as I had this one.

I am now so scared.  All I have ever wanted in my life is to have a child I am now 31 and will be 32 in NOvember.  I am really scared.  I want to fall pregnant but scared that it may be eptopic again and then I worry that I may never have children.  I am confused and dont really know what to do anymore.  All I have ever wanted and prayed for was to have a baby.

Can anyone help or give me any advise or recommend anything please I cant handle this on my own.

Thanks you
Diane
