severe pelvic pain after intercourse

My husband and I have been trying for over 3 years to get pregnant, finally in March we found out we expecting. At 5 1/2 weeks, I misscarried. I had a normal, but heavy period on April 20, 2009. I am usually pretty regular now and had some ovulation pains on May 4th. My husband I and I are very sexually active, about everyother, if not every day. During the time when I think I was ovulation, I could feel it and intercourse was inconfortable with to deep of penetration. At 7 dpo ovulation my we intercourse. It was a little uncomfortable during, but after was awful. I had severe cramping, comparable to labor contrations with so much pressure I could feel in through my abdomen to my butt. I could barely stand, I laid in bed for at least 30 minutes, then the pain eased up. We are ttc, and I was wondering if anyone had a similar experience or knew what could have caused this?

It could be a urinary tract infection. I'm always getting them and they can cause severe cramping and blood in your urine. Good luck and let me know what happens. I hope you feel better soon.......

I did take a pregnancy test this am, it was negative. My dr wants to do a pelvic exam to make sure everything is normal... I also have a trace of blood in my urine, so maybe my period is coming right on time? We will see

Hi there,
I'm sorry for your loss. I myself always have pains during ovulation and I tend to have very crampy periods. It may be you were o'ng or you may have had a cyst that dissolved. I have had ovarian surgery in the past. Most women get cysts during ovualtion that dissolve during their periods or even when they become pg. Have you taken a test yet? I would the next time you talk to your dr mention it to him or her. It could be from all the bding. I too was bding everyday when I was ttc and you can get sore. Best wishes to you and lots of baby dust to you. Take care and keep me posted.

Ps you can take tylenol if the pain gets bad but check with your dr as well.
