How Soon?

How long after your m/c did you ttc again or found out you were pregnant? Also, for those of you that found out you were pregnant, did you have the same symptoms, no symptoms, or a completely different experience? I am just curious because I am getting ready for my female wellness visit and they are going to make sure that I can start ttc again.

Also, did any of you have your husbands, boyfriends, or fiances take any fertility tests? The reason I ask is because my fiance feels that its fault I had a m/c and would like to get tested. I don't know what to tell him or which type of tests he should get. Any help, advice, or tips would be super-duper awesome.

we started ttc again before I got my first AF. I was only 6 weeks along and ended up having to wait 14 weeks for AF to come, so we just didn't use protection and used the old "whatever happens, happens" attitude. Well, I've now had 2 cycles (on my 3rd now) and still no BFP :(  I want to wish you luck and hope you get the green light from the Dr. so you and DF can start ttc again :) SSBD to you :)

i know that when i had my mc at 13 weeks, i had the baby tested and it came back as a triploid fetus which meant it had an extra chromosome and that more then likely came from 2 sperm entering one egg.  i did alot of reading and from what i found and what my doctor told me something like this happens alot and i was just lucky that i was able to have it tested and find out for sure.  a mc is very common and i read that 20% of pregnancies end in mc and that is a percentage of documented pregnancies and in the same article it said that the number of mc would be more around 50% if all were documented but most women don't even know they are pregnant before they mc.  that doesn't make your loss any easier but i hope it helps to put your mind at ease from all the what if's.  i know reading that article really helped me.

I had a natural m/c at 8 weeks, in Aug.  Dr said to wait after first AF to TTC again, which we did.  We are now on cycle #5, post m/c and no BFP - but praying that will change next week!!

Since we TTC'd for 2 years before our BFP, I saw a fertility specialist in Dec. (so this cycle I'm on Clomid for the first time).  One of the first tests they could do for DF is a sperm analysis (s/a).  This will test volume, morphalogy and motility.  I honestly don't know if any of that would tell you anything about the m/c.  I really don't know any more testing beyond that.  I believe that there are some blood tests for genetic reasons, but don't have any more info then that.  I'm sure if you ask your dr, they could advise.

Typically most dr's won't do any testing until you have had 3 m/c.  They usually chalk the first up to a chromosonal abnormality, which is more common then one would think.  My dr also said that even though you have one m/c, that does not put you at any higher risk of having another.

I hope that helps a little?
