Getting pregnant after removing the fibroid!

Hi Ladies,

I was wondering if any of you had a myomectomy to remove your fibroid and did you get pregnant after that? or what was your experience with that?

My doctor really scares me and told me that it might damage your tube or leave scar tissues. My fibroids are small and they are all located outside of my cavity so I think it shouldn't be a big deal but still.

Thank you!

I had two firbriods removed in April 2009. They fused together and were as large as a cornish hen. I got pregnant in  January of 2010 and m/c at 10 weeks. I am now 22 weeks pregnant. So the answer is yes you can get pregnant. I would suggest eating right, exersice, and taking your vitamins. Also do not worry or stress. Remember your body is in recovery after the surgery.  It may take time, but it will happen have no doubt.

Good Luck

Thanks for your respond. The biggest fibroid measures 5cm so I'm right on the edge but still not sure if that was the cause of my miscarriage.

If they are small and located outside, I doubt it will cause any problems.  I have two small ones, and in my case my Dr. opted to leave them.  In your case, it sounds like removal was a good decision.  I am so sorry for your loss, and I wish you well.

Forgot to mentioned that I miscarried my twins when I was 15 weeks pregnant. The doctors think that fibroid was the cause.
