Mystery solved??

I had a miscarriage in July at 17 weeks.  Very traumatic as I am sure you all can understand.  Anyway, went to an RE to help me with getting pregnant again as I just turned 43 and my dr said no time to waste.  So he ran some blood work and come to find out I have Factor V Leiden Disorder which is most likely why I miscarried.   This blood disorder causes abnormal clotting in the placenta and basically cuts off the circulation to the baby they told me.  So when I get pregnant again I will have to take Heparin shots 2 times a day to prevent this from happening again.  Doesn't sound fun, but I will do it.    BTW - I have 2 daughter from previous fertility treatment and did not have problems with them.  I was told can affect every pregnancy or just some pregnancies.

Just wanted to put this out there for any of you with similar issues, get tested if possible.  I thought for sure would be neg.

My test results came back as MTHFR with 2 mutations.  They link factor V with MTHFR.  Mine is suppose to be treated with B6 B12 Folic Acid and Baby Aspirin.  I have had a miscarriage since finding this out and have had 3 miscarriages prior to the last one so 4 total.  They are going to treat me with heprin too.  They are saying the baby aspirin is not enough for me.

Glad they found out what was wrong.  Sorry about your loss.

Oh, I am glad to hear you were able to have a successful pregnancy.  I wondered about this, even though they tell me it should be fine.  Not pregnant yet, but trying.  :-)
thanks!

After 5 miscarriages, I was diagnosed with the same thing... 6 months later, I was pregnant, and did the shots the whole pregnancy, now I have a 4 year old beautiful girl. I have met 1 lady in my town with the same thing.. This is rare, but some docs. do not check for this... My baby is a miracle. 2 years ago, was pregnant again, but in my tubes, they removed both of them in an emergency surgery.
