QUESTIONS ABOUT MY MISCARRIAGE PLEASE HELP!! XX

Hi everyone,

can anyone offer any advice?? I recently had a miscarriage at 8 weeks, there was no development past 5 weeks, only an empty sac seen... My husband and i were devastated, it was my first pregnancy.

On 20th Dec I started bleeding, went for an early scan at EPU on 23rd Dec who confirmed I was miscarrying. Continued to bleed with small clots and slight cramping and back pain which came and went. Then on 1st Jan 2010 I passed what looked like the sac and continued to bleed lightly until the evening of 4th January when it stopped.

Can anyone tell me what the date of my miscarriage would have been? I read that ovulation could be 2 - 4 weeks after miscarriage but i'm not sure when that would be?

My husband and I have decided to start ttc right away as the docs advised no reason not to as it was a natural m/c and she could see no abnormalities with me. We began trying again on 5th jan.

Any advice or experiences would be really appreciated.

Thanks, Lou xxx

OPK's aren't considered accurate right after a miscarriage.  Everything I read said to use other methods and start it after you get your first cycle.

It is very possible to ovulate that soon after a miscarriage.  I ovulated two days after the bleeding stopped.  Your first  cycle will most likely not be normal, however it could be.

Have you had any other signs of ovulation?  If you get an OPK try to look at your cervical mucus, if it looks egg white texture and clear there's a very good chance it is ovulation.

Good luck!  HOpefully it is Ovulation!

So I am now 12 days after miscarriage ( i think - see above) and have just got a positive OPK!!!

Sunday (10 days afer m/c) - took a HPT - negative:( at least i know... Started using OPK's also - 2 tests, one at 12.30pm and one at 8pm both negative

Monday (CD11) - test one at 12.30 pm and two at 8pm both negative (although line getting darker

Today (CD12) - test is definately positive and i have also had twinges and slight breast tenderness since last night..

Is it possible to be ovulating this early (day 12) after m/c?? I usually ovulate like day 17 or 18. Should i trust the OPK or could it be wrong??

What should I do now? Sex every day for 3 days??

What do you all think?? Is it right? xx

OPK's aren't 100% accurate before your first cycle after a miscarriage.  Some women will ovulate with in days of the miscarriage, and others will take weeks.  From what I read it's best to use the CM method and look for ovulation cramps.  With the CM method it's really easy and you just need to look for clear egg white texture to know your "fertile"   If you have that CM than just try to keep a look out for Ovulation Cramps.

Good luck!  Also there's a Baby Dust Buddies - TTC and Pregnancy after a Loss group that's been very helpful to me!

Thanks for replying!!

Thats what i thought it would be the 1st Jan.. So would you say count that as CD1?

I started using OPK's yesterday, have had negs so far!! We have been having sex most days since 5th Jan so we'll see how it goes...

When is it possible to ov after a miscarriage? Not even sure the OPK's will work properly this soon after..?

Thanks for the advice x

Your actual miscarriage would have been Jan 1st, when you passed the sack. I had to have a d&c because I was 12 weeks along, and wasn't miscarrying on my own, so am not much help there.
If it's affordable, get some ovulation kits to help find out when you ovulate. Also try having sex every other day to make sure you hit the target. If your not checking your cervial mucous, look it up online, it can be very helpful in pinpointing when you are going to ovulate.
