conceiving after dnc

Has anyone gotten pregnant after and dnc and before your first period?  Just curious.  Thanks!

I had my d&c on the 30th and we r allready ttc i know it's going against the drs orders as they told me to wait 1 cycle but i feel i really want to try again straight away so i hope it all works out for u all good luck

I had a d&c on oct 21st. I have ttc since then. Despite the doctors reccomendation to wait at leat 1 period. Not to discredit the doctor I am sure some women do really need to wait. For either time to heal mentally, or physically. But honestly I felt emotionally healed very quickly and therefore I belive my body followed suit. As I feel very much like Im in full working order. ; ) Im really in touch with my body, in fact I had a strong suspicion that my hcg levels were dropped 1 week after my procedure. I happened to be at plannedparenthood, so I insisted they do a pregnancy test, despite the nurse and doctors insisting that it would most likly be positive because your body can take 4-6 weeks to get your hcg levels down. They did it any way and low and behold it came back negative. So If I get pregnant I will let everyone know how it goes. I do know that it is possible to get pregnant right after a d&c. Even before your period. So you do OVULATE!!! Good luck to everyone ttc!!!

my doctor told me to wait 2 cycles after my d&c .. I also think that it depends on how far along you were as to how long they ask you to wait .. as mine was 12 weeks, they wanted to give my body a chance to recover fully .. .I waited 3 cycles and then did another ivf and am now 5.5 weeks pregnant

I have seen lots of stories on here of those who got pregnant before their first period though so everyone is different .. good luck!

My doctor told us TTC when we feel ready...We waiting for my first period after DandC..

Its hard to tell. They say to wait because your uterine wall is weaker after a d&c and it puts your chance of miscarriage higher...

Listen my wife had a DNC. If she was to get pregnant before her first period is that a bad thing? Or is it just a risk taker ? I don't want her or my baby hurt.

I have heard of other women on here who have gotten pregnant before their period returns after a m/c.  I have also heard it is good to wait a couple cycles to give your uterus time to build up a lining again.

The average is 4-6 weeks to get your period again.  It will take a couple of weeks to return after your HCG gets to 0.
