how long to wait

hey everybody. i had a miscarrigae feb.5th at 15 weeks. naturally my husband and I are heartbroken. all was well blood levels, heart beat 155 bpm the day before and then the next day my water broke and the baby started to pass thru. its really hard going from being pregnant to not in the matter of minutes. i didnt realize how common miscarriages are until it happen to me. my doctor of course adviced to wait 4-6weeks before tryn again but I want to try ASAP. how soon after a m/c did any of you guys try? how long b4 next pregnancy? jus need some encouragement that it will be okay and there is light at the end of the tunnel...

I had a miscarriage a week ago. Unfortunately due to bad medical advise I had to have a D&C and transfusions afterwards. It was so disheartening because we have been trying over 2 years and I finally had given up after going to fertility treatments and trying everything under the sun. I also have thyroid problems and was told that it would be difficult conceiving on my own so this was more than a shock when we tested positive for the pregnancy. I know we should wait a few cycles (one doctor suggested wait 3-4 months after the D&C) but I'm afraid after my 6wk checkup that this won't happen again. Just asking for advise and to see if anyone else has some feedback on my situation.

thx for the encouraging words. tryn to keep the faith. im sorry for your lost and want to make sure you take your own advice-TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF. you have to be ready when god gives us our little blessings!

Hi i am very sorry for your lose, i have just had my second miscarraige in 3 months. After 1st  miscarraige concived 2 weeks later. Got an early scan at six weeks and all was good baby had a nice strong hearbeat and was a good size, they gave me another scan on the 16th and found that the babies heart had stopped and baby had not grown so had to get a d&c. We have been told to wait a least one cycle before ttc again but may wait a bit longer. My first miscarraige was a natural one so it can be very easy to get pregnant again very quickly all depends on how you feel emotionally. All the luck in the future and make sure you take care of yourself first and foremost xxx

Hi I miscarraged my third pregnancy at 10 weeks though bub had stopped growing at 8 w. I had a d&c in Jan 14 2010. My drs all said that as I had previously had 2 uncomplicated pregnacies and no issue trying to get pregnant once I stopped bleeding I could try again. If ur uterus isn't ready them implantation won't occur. And of course as long as u are emotionally ready. I fell pregnant straight after and now 9 weeks had a scan on Thursday and all is going well. I think it's meant to be as dh and I didn't ttc but decided it would happen when my body was ready

techincally;most doc.s would tell u to wait minimum two cycles after  MC..u also had MC in the second. trimester .thats the other reason why us hould wait for two months...

emoitonally:u can try when ua re ready and when ur hormones regulates themselves.....

the first AF would be cleaning for ur body..ur body will clean up everything left over ..it could be heavier or lighter...the second AF would be more accurate one ....

i've heard alot of women gettting pregnant  even before their first AF  or right after the first AF.....

I 've had two MCs and it was very hard on me..and I really don't wanna have another one because I've tired too soon.....so I  definitely wanna wait till second AF and TTC ....

thx guys. i've had unprotected sex with my husband a couple of times and was wonder could i be pregnant again. dont have any symptoms..jus read alot of stroies of women getting pg 2-4weeks after m/c. i go to my 6 week check up this friday so we will see.

I waited one cycle because I had a D&C, and we got pregnant on the first try, I'm now almost 9 weeks along.

Since it was natural, I see no issue in trying right away, I know a lot of women on this board that got pregnant right after there natural miscarriage and so far are doing just fine.

I've heard different answers on when to try from every dr, but the only truly medical answer I got was to wait at least one cycle after a D&C to try, since it was natural, no issue since with natural they don't scrape out your lining.

Welcome to our group. I'm so sorry for your loss. Thats a hard question to answer since many Dr.'s say different things. I've had early losses and was never given a time frame of when I could start trying again. I had loss at almost 5 months along and waited to get the ok at my 6 week check-up(I don't think I was emotionally ready). Sometimes it all has to do with your cycle getting back to normal, they can be a little off after a loss. If you want to see a light at the end of the tunnel check out the Belly Buddies thread, most of the women there started off where you are now, hope it helps.      Lori
