depression, can it progress to bipolar?

I was dx 25 yrs. ago  with Major depression and redx a year ago with Bipolar.  Over the last 5-6 yrs. I have noticed changes in myself and my behavior and have no doubt I am Bipolar.  I do not believe I was misdx 2 yrs. ago.  Is it possible for depression to progress to bipolar?

I think the answer to your question is "yes" except that from the viewpoint of psychiatry we would say that you always "had" bipolar depression, but for many people bipolar depression manifests as recurrent depression for years before showing the energized symptoms. Which definitely doesn't mean that you were misdiagnosed, it just may take a while to know for sure.
