My husband and I made a belt with flat bungee cords, that attaches to both of my Ottobock foot drop braces.  It helps me lift my legs, because I also have bilateral hip flexor weakness.   I posted a description of how we did it on the Facebook page "Persons striving to survive with multiple sclerosis"  

Here's a photo you can use to find it.  We (my husband and I) want to put the information out there for anyone else who might need it.
