Are you going to a Neuro in Austin?
I'm from Burnet and go to one in Austin. But fixing to go to another one.
He needs to be reported, but you need to take care of yourself first. Type up what you remember from the first visit and the time of your visit. Then type up what happened this time and the time you went to the appointment. Also get copies of your med file asap. What report was that the ladies took? I wonder if this has happened before.
Take care you are not alone. There are some really wonderful people here.
Elizabeth
What a creep!!! How horrible for you to have to endure such an experience. Well done on being so brave and standing up to him though, but yikes, what a creep.
hugs,

Quix...awesome advice for her...she certainly did see the medical profession at it's worst and I hope that she can find a "REAL" neurologist soon!
Rena
You did fine, better than fine. You stood up to him and got him good and scared. He knows he made the exam up out of thin air, and now he's scared. He realized it when he saw your name on the list for today and checked his notes. He really does need to be removed from practice, but that is not really your job.
Actually your report to us a few days ago is documentation from you that he didn't do an exam. That and this will stand as documentation made contemporaneously, which is something our legal system takes very seriously. I believe you should file a complaint with the licensing board in Texas, but tell them you fear reprisal from him in the form of notifying other physicians to avoid you. You can submit these discussions here as evidence if you wish. Make sure you tell them as closely as possible what time you were in his office for the first exam. (They can check his phone records to verify he took a lengthy call.) This report to the Board will put them on alert so if you start getting flack from other doctors they will already have been alerted and can see the pattern. Request a referral to a different neurologist for a complete exam as soon as possible so that any deficits on your exam can be documented.
Here is the link to the Texas Medical Board. Click on the "Consumer Services" link and you can check to see if he has had any complaints filed. And you'll see the link for complaints.

He is very dangerous and will end up letting someone die.
Now, all that said, actually getting him removed, sanctioned, or prosecuted for insurance fraud is not your job right now. Get back in touch with your pcp and explain exactly what happened. If you can't get right in, fax him something like your post above, prefacing it with something like, " I was angry the first visit when he didn't even touch me to begin an exam. I went back to see if we could actually get a proper evaluation done."
This is so that your GP hears from you hopefully before the phone call to him from the neuro. Ask for a referral for a different neurologist. Please try to get a letter to your regular doctor as soon as possible - today.
Maybe you or your husband could find out who the women were that you spoke to.
I'm sure you feel like you've just been on some sort of hallucinoges. I'm sure it seems unreal. What a horrible confrontation with a member of a respected profession. None of this is your fault. You are not an idiot, but you have seen the medical profession at its worst. I'm so sorry you had to go through this.
Stay with us. We'll help you move on form this.
Quix, MD
So I take it he didn't order your MRI for you. (Sorry, couldn't resist.) You were ambivalent about going, but now you are absolutely sure he's not doing you any good and is, in fact, harming you. You can move on with a very, very strong feeling of empowerment and vindication. Best of luck with the next one--I hope you get a keeper.

Yeah, what Rena said. lol, really, tho, calm and organized, makes us sound much saner than we CAN sound, lol. Good for you, though. He likely wrote that down after you left your first appt, to cover his own ***.
Good luck at regular docs. appt.

I AM SOOOO PROUD OF YOU HONEY!!!
YOU STOOD UP TO THIS GEEK LIKE I TOLD YOU TO! YEE HAW!!!
YOU SHOULD BE PROUD OF YOURSELF AND NOW IT'S TIME TO MOVE ON!!!
Dawn, you did a good job today and now it's time to move on honey! Don't get all down on yourself....you stood up to him like we discussed and since you are seeing your g.p. today it is all fresh in your mind! You need to calmly discuss what happened during your visit and make it VERY CLEAR to your doctor that you NEED to see a doctor that is going to do a proper examination on you. I have had a bad experience with a neuro that didn't do any testing on me and then it turned out he was over-medicating me to the point of toxicity...BUT...any time I mention what this neuro did or didn't do, the family doctor gets very closed mouthed about it...you have to remember that they do stick together. This is a VERY important part of your visit that you need to relate to your family doctor... "Don't you remember...yes I did" and tells me he thinks I need to see a psychologist! I asked him why do I need a psychologist and he says "you know... for your symptoms" I said for what symptoms? and He couldn't not say what symptoms."
You might be best to print off what you have typed out for us so that you have it straight for your family doctor! Don't get all excited about having this doctor charged with insurance fraud though honey...if you want to do that on your own that is fine but you could find yourself all alone without a family doctor if you start raising cain with the family doctor about this.
I think the main thing you need to deal with now is getting an MS specialist or a Neurologist that will do the proper testing to find out what the problem is...remember, your health is #1 and you need to find out what the problem is first!
Best of Luck honey and let us know how your appointment goes with your family doctor ok?
Lots of Hugs,
Rena
He committed fraud. He should be scared. What was the report about? Who were the ladies? What did they ask you?
Zilla*
Sheeeeesh.....you definately need to report him!!!!! That is rediculous!
I am so sorry that you had such a terrible experience.
We are all here for you :)
Syn
REPORT HIM........INSURANCE FRAUD?! LET YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY KNOW HE DID NOT DO THE EXAM. I EXPERENCED SOMETHING VERY SIMULAR THIS SUMMER. I NEVER WENT BACK TO THAT DOCTOR.
SO SORRY!! YOU NEED TO FIND A DIFFEREND DOCTOR.
May I be among those to say you are NOT an idiot! You are brave, you stood up to him, you did it!!
And now, when you go to your family dr. today, TELL HIM, so he won't ever refer others to this fool.
I am so sorry for what you endured.
I also had a neuro who only did a partial exam on me and reported the part he did not do as Normal. I did not stand up to him; my dh and I pretty much figured that is what he would say, so we walked out, left it at that.
I admire your courage, and I repeat, YOU ARE NOT AN IDIOT.
